Popular cleric, Pastor Odekunle Epaphras, has shared a surprising personal experience involving a church member who allegedly collected his international passport and disappeared for more than six years.
According to the pastor, the incident began after a Sunday service when a church member approached him with an offer to sponsor a short trip to Dubai.
The man reportedly requested Pastor Odekunle Epaphras’ international passport, assuring him that travel arrangements would be handled. Two days later, the church member allegedly informed him that a visa had been secured and instructed him to prepare for a trip to Lagos ahead of his departure.

Excited by the prospect of travelling, the cleric said he made preparations and even arranged transportation to Lagos. However, the promised travel documents never arrived.
Pastor Odekunle Epaphras claimed that the church member disappeared with his passport and could not be found for the next six years, leaving him unable to travel internationally during that period.
The pastor said he eventually had to go through the process of obtaining another passport after waiting years without success.
Recounting the emotional impact of the experience, he described it as one of the most painful betrayals he had ever experienced, warning people to be careful about who they trust.
Using the incident as a lesson, Pastor Odekunle Epaphras urged Nigerians to pray against what he described as “destiny wasters” and individuals who hinder the progress of others.
His story has since generated reactions online, with many social media users sharing their thoughts on trust, betrayal and personal experiences involving deception.
