The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed that social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has been invited by investigators following allegations he made against Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Moshood Jimoh.

According to the Police, the invitation is aimed at giving VDM the opportunity to provide evidence to support the claims he made publicly. Authorities say the move is part of an ongoing effort to ensure that all allegations are properly investigated through established legal procedures.

In a related development, the Police also disclosed that AIG Moshood Jimoh has been summoned as part of the same investigation. The Force stated that no officer is exempt from scrutiny and that every complaint deserving of investigation will be handled in accordance with the law.

The Police further noted that one of the matters linked to the allegations is already before a competent court. As a result, they stressed that the issues will be addressed through the judicial process rather than through public debate or social media discussions.
